Soupy was a black lab that loved to run, and especially chase. She chased balls, stick, and
to my misfortune… squirrels. On one of our afternoon walks, she saw a squirrel and ended
up dragging me through two yards – I didn’t get hurt, but I had some wonderful battle scars
and grass stains to show for it! I was 8 years old. The same summer, my brother brought
home a baby crow that had been shot by someone and it still had a BB in its wing, leaving
it unable to fly any great distance. We raised that crow, believe it or not - on cat food! Herk
was a part of our family for several years, during which time he taught me a great deal about
patience and caring. It was funny how he would come to the kitchen window and peck at
the glass to let us know he was hungry, or drop out of the Maple tree out back to roust a cat
or dog that had wandered into our yard.
These experiences in my childhood shaped me and taught me a lot – most importantly, I
understood my love for animals. Unfortunately, I never considered involving this passion
as a career until recently. Since those days I’ve had many pets, from dogs and cats to
finches, hamsters, and a few fish. I gained a lot of knowledge and developed an
appreciation that brought me to this point in my life. As a provider of pet related services,
I love what I do, in fact there’s nothing else I’d rather do! It’s not just about walking a dog
or feeding a cat while the owners are on holiday – in my care, I enable
your pets to feel safe, secure and loved, so they’re
as happy when you come home as when you left. More... |
